What we have seen in vidoes of ICE and Border Patrol terrorism on the streets of our cities is bad enough. What we haven't seen is what's going on once the detainees are in custody. That's even worse, as detailed in this report published yesterday in the Contrarian. I was stunned. This is stuff out of 1930s Germany. A million American servicepeople were killed or injured, fighting to keep it from happening here. If we allow this to go on, their sacrifices were wasted.
I know that this blog attracts very few readers. No matter. It is imperative that every one of you write your Senators and representatives and tell them not to give a dime more to DHS until Noem and Miller are gone and the concentration camps are replaced by something an American can contemplate without shame. And ask your friends to do the same. Here is what I told my congresspeople:
The reforms to ICE that Democrats are demanding are all well and good, but they represent only the tip of the iceberg with regard to the horrors being perpetrated by the Trump regime in its ongoing pogrom against immigrants and non-whites. From reports like this one recently published by the Contrarian (https://contrarian.substack.com/p/inside-trumps-ice-concentration-camps), it is inescapably clear that no part of the Department of Homeland Security which has anything to do with immigration or border control has escaped utter and complete corruption. The brutality, cruelty, lawlessness, in short the barbaric inhumanity exercised upon the unfortunate detainees of Trump's concentration camps compel only one conclusion: DHS, in all of its immigration/border control operations, must be shut down as soon as possible. I do not care if it is objected that we need border enforcement mechanisms. What we currently have is worse than no border control at all. I grew up in the decades immediately following World War II. The paradigmatic institution of Nazi Germany was the concentration camp. What the Trump regime has constructed is the almost exact equivalent of Dachau. Is this how the current regime rewards the sacrifices of over a million American soldiers? Was it all for nothing? The concentration camp is only a short step away from the labor camp, and from there to the death camp. Have we sunk so low we can allow this on our soil? Stand firm against any funding for DHS until Noem is gone and the camps, as presently constituted, are abolished and replaced with something we can contemplate without shame.
