Trump's War and Vermont

I thank my lucky stars that I live in Vermont, where my Senators and Representative know without having to be told the difference between what is lawful and constitutional and what is not. I wonder whether the commanders of the Vermont Air National Guard, which was deployed to the Middle East in January, possess the same understanding. I wonder whether they are observing their legal obligation to refuse to comply with illegal orders, or are they participating in Trump's campaign of assassination, arson, murder, and destruction against Iran? That this war is unconstitutional and illegal, there can be no doubt. The Trump regime lied to Congress, America, and the world about its willingness to pursue diplomacy until the very moment the bombs were set to drop. That it is a war, there can be no doubt. The stated objective is not some limited intervention, but the overthrow of a sovereign government. This time, there is no pretense that the assault is "merely" in support of a police action, as was the case in Venezuela. There was no attempt whatsoever to obtain congressional consent; instead, a handful of leaders were informed of the fait accompli minutes before it took place. This is, pure and simple, a case of one dictator attacking another. I wonder whether the timing of the attack has anything to do with the discovery a few days earlier of what has been long suspected, that the Epstein files contain allegations that Trump (a known rapist) raped a teenage girl. Although the attack has been in preparation for months, so has the ongoing revelation of Epstein materials, despite the regime's clumsy attempts at coverup. For now, murder wins the news cycle. I wonder if this is the kind of thing our "president" had in mind when he told the Norwegian prime minister in January that he would "no longer feel an obligation to think purely of peace," now that the Nobel Prize he coveted had escaped his grasp. Ironically, our regime's stated goal is regime change overseas. What is needed is regime change here, and as soon as possible. I hope Vermont will be in the forefront of that effort.
