On May 8, 2024, I'll be joining two other Fomite Press authors, Marc Estrin and Ron Jacobs, for a joint reading and book launch party. I'm the poet in the group. I'll be celebrationg publication of The Dragon of Sassafras Mountain and Other Poems, a collection of lyrics on a variety of subjects in a variety of forms, from a lengthy eulogy for a dear friend to moments captured in haiku, from meditations on individual and collective extinction to high school memories and musings on the taste of tea, from Irish mountains and ruins to a late night parking lot in 1960s Buffalo, and much more. The title poem is a narrative based on a story my mother told me when I was small, that has guided my life. Festivities wil begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington, Vermont.
