My email du jour to Sen. Welch:
It pains me to tell you how dismayed I was to learn that you have joined
the call for President Biden, the most effective, progressive president
we have had since LBJ if not since FDR, who is presently running the
executive branch competently and effectively, to quit the presidential
race because he acted old and tired in a televised appearance two weeks
ago. The damage that you and your other panicky colleagues are doing by
dragging this out is incredible. Do you really think some white knight
will come riding in to save you and sweep all before them? If you and
your colleagues would stand behind your party's leader and, you know,
actually fight for the things you say you believe in, instead of
squealing with fear and cowering before the infantile, cognitively
impaired, superannuated, sociopathic narcissist who is your main
opponent, you could win. General Grant famously told his generals to
stop worrying so much about what Lee was going to do and concentrate
more on what they were going to do to him. That guy knew how to win.
The Gutless Panicky Wimp Brigade that you seem to be joining, not so
much.
